On Saturday, 21.
September 2024.
Under the open sky of the Petrovaradin Fortress, Cosmodrome 2024 was held – an event dedicated to the promotion of STEM education through fun, adventure and interactive content.
The organizer, the Committee for the Development of the Space Program (CSPD), successfully attracted visitors of all ages, while the focus of this year’s event was on children and their introduction to the world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Students of our pilot project, Borko Popović, Katarina Lukanović, Jovana Lalić, Zlatan Vasiljević and Miroslav Doćoš, actively participated in the organization of this second great event, unique in our country.
The event was interactive, with the aim of arousing curiosity and inspiring.
Children of different ages were able to participate in numerous creative and educational workshops, where, with the help of volunteers, they learned about the basics of space research and technological innovation.
The program was rich in activities – from the construction of solid-fuel rockets and satellites, to drone races and simulations of spacewalks through VR technology.
The children took part with great enthusiasm in the “Space Coloring Book”, the observation of the Sun, as well as in the polygons of small drones and robots.
Workshops on making aeromodels were also organized for the youngest, while older students had the opportunity to compete in the production and launch of rockets.
One of the most visited activities was the “Spacewalk VR simulator”, where participants were able to experience a virtual astronaut experience, going through spacewalk simulations.
Also, the international competition in FPV drone outdoor races has attracted a lot of attention.
Parents and older visitors enjoyed the relaxation zones, while the little ones were educated in the most beautiful way – through fun.
Thanks to this, the event achieved its goal – to show that science and research can be inspiring and accessible to everyone.
Cosmodrome 2024 proved that education can also be fun, and everyone present had the opportunity to get closer to space through concrete experiences.
Thank you to everyone who joined and made this day special, and we are eagerly awaiting the next Cosmodrome!
