Did you know that in Serbia, there’s a place where you can simultaneously explore the perfect recipe for carob bread, learn how to properly taste wine and evaluate its sensory qualities, gain insight into the startup creation process, and use cutting-edge forensic methods to assess the authenticity of a masterpiece by a Rwandan art genius?
On Saturday, November 16th, we spent an unforgettable day at the Faculty of Technology, University of Novi Sad. Thanks to the hospitality of Professor Dr. Jovana Grahovac and her outstanding colleagues—Professor Dr. Vladimir Puškaš, Professor Dr. Dragana Šoronja Simović, Dr. Jovana Petrović, and Professor Dr. Snežana Vučetić—our students participated in a series of interactive workshops combining science, industry, and practical knowledge.
After a warm welcome from Acting Dean Professor Dr. Zita Šereš, we heard inspiring stories about the infrastructure connecting scientific innovation and industry, and startup creation experiences from Dr. Vanja Vlajkov and Dr. Ivana Danilov. We also participated in a wine tasting workshop led by Professor Dr. Vladimir Puškaš and evaluated functional foods with the team of Professor Dr. Dragana Šoronja Simović and Dr. Jovana Petrović.
We concluded the day in a unique cultural heritage preservation laboratory, where Professor Dr. Snežana Vučetić shared incredible stories about the science behind preserving some of the most important works of local and global modern art.
When supporting young talents, there is no greater inspiration than meeting people who share the same mission and values. We are grateful for the exceptional hospitality and knowledge shared with us and look forward to continuing this collaboration in the future.
